Sculpture Consultant and Arts Management
From her 25 years of museum experience, Beej Nierengarten-Smith
has a broad range of knowledge about museum and collections management,
commissioning and acquiring public art, curating exhibitions,
structuring educational programs, and presenting special public
events. Currently Beej is sculpture consultant to Iowa State University Art-In-State Buildings Program and a member of the Iowa West Foundation Public Art Advisory Committee. She has written
and obtained numerous national and local grants for local, national
and international artists.
Beej has served on numerous public art and museum assessment
panels, art juries, and advisory boards. She has commissioned
and worked with many internationally recognized artists and has
lectured and written frequently on the process of building a
contemporary sculpture collection.
